Game objective

The goal of Parchis is to move all your pieces from home to the finish before your opponents. Every turn is about choosing which piece gives you the strongest position.

Getting pieces out

To start, you need to bring pieces out of home and place them on the start square. In Parchiis, some simple moves are automated to keep online games moving quickly.

Moving with dice

On your turn, you roll the dice and move one of your available pieces. The best move is not always the longest move: safety, captures and the finish lane all matter.

Captures and safe squares

When your piece lands on a capturable opponent piece, that opponent piece goes back home. Safe squares and barriers affect whether a move is dangerous or protected.

Barriers in Parchis

A barrier is formed when two pieces of the same color occupy the same square. Barriers can block movement and change the tempo of the game. Knowing when to create or open a barrier is part of the strategy.

Reaching the finish

After completing the main track, each piece enters its color finish lane. You win when all your pieces reach the finish before the other players.
